REA is a brand created by a designer who believes in designing with cultural sustainability in mind . From fabric prints to each embellishment, each look is crafted by her from scratch. Each fabric print is drawn carefully by hand, taking hours or even days to finish before being tested on fabric. The prints take inspiration from temples and architectural wall paintings across India and other South East Asian cultures she grew up in. For every print, each story is carefully studied to be carried forward and reimagined, carrying forward the old techniques of storytelling through today's art. Before being a designer, Rhea was a painter which is where her love for Indian motifs and how they told stories came about. She mainly works with natural fibers such as denims to create custom blazers. Her scraps are never thrown away either but made into denim patches, embellished and crafted carefully to be used for other looks. The brand is not about fast drops or mass production, but handcrafted pieces that tell a story, both on a personal and cultural level.
