About rea

REA is built on a simple belief: design should carry culture forward, not erase it.

Every look starts from scratch — the fabric prints, the embellishments, all of it handcrafted by Rhea herself. Each print begins as a hand drawn illustration, often taking hours or days to complete before it's even tested on fabric. The motifs draw from temple art and architectural wall paintings across India and the South East Asian cultures she grew up around, each story carefully researched, then reimagined through today's craft.

Before she was a designer, Rhea was a painter. That's where her love for Indian motifs and the stories they've carried for centuries began.

She works primarily with natural fibers like denim, crafting custom blazers piece by piece. Even her scraps get a second life, transformed into embellished denim patches used in other designs. REA isn't about fast drops or mass production. It's about handcrafted pieces that hold a story, personal and cultural, and the wait that comes with receiving something made just for you.
